General Statement of Job
To assist in the development, manipulation, organization, analysis, and presentation of GIS data.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Creating and updating maps
Creating maps and reports using geocoded data
Analyzing GIS data for trends and patterns
Designing draft and final layouts of maps and reports
Compiling spatial information into requested formats
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Mapping principles including creating and editing maps, building layers, importing external data and shape files
Location and geocoding concepts as related to mapping
Using data analysis in the context of location for trends and patterns
Skills
Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

Required Education
High school diploma or educational equivalent.
College level course in GIS
Preferred Education

Physical Requirements
Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
