The candidate will provide GIS support for professional biologist, planner, and engineer assignments; create, manipulate, map, and manage data; interact with other GIS and mapping specialists; and help integrate new GIS technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We'll consider candidates with good educational knowledge, although the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience (greater experience is desirable) and have demonstrated proficiency in or specialized knowledge of:
- Manipulating vector and raster data in ArcGIS.
- Manipulating tabular data in GIS, including summarizing, joining and linking related data.
- Map design and layout skills for display and published maps.
- Geodatabase design and management.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Extensive knowledge of the principles of Geographic Information and Cartography. General ability to operate in a networked environment.
SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE
ESRI (ArcGIS – ArcInfo, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, ArcIMS, ArcSDE)
ERDAS Imagine
Microsoft Office
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server preferred
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- CAD or Microstation familiarity
- Photoshop
