GIS Intern at the City of Round Rock

Description
The Summer Internship Program with the City of Round Rock is designed to provide an on-the-job opportunity to gain "real world" work experience in a career-related professional workforce environment. This is an administrative internship program.

Our objective is to provide a working and learning environment where Interns can develop the skills and competencies necessary to grow into successful leaders and potential City of Round Rock Employees.

Examples of Duties
The City of Round Rock, Texas is seeking an intern to work with our Information Technology-GIS Department during the Summer semester. Work will involve providing entry-level GIS assistance on a variety of Information Systems projects that will be implemented for it's customers.

The GIS Intern will:
  • Assist Planning & Development Services with the data/spatial needs of the City's comprehensive plan
  • Assist Parks & Recreation Department with various data analysis and community outreach programs.
  • Assist with other projects that come up from other City departments.
  • Assist with entry-level GIS Analyst duties needed by the Information Technology staff.

Experience and Training
Be enrolled full-time or recent graduate of an accredited university or college
Must be classified as an Undergraduate or Graduate student
Must provide an unofficial transcript and resume
Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0

Graduate-level GIS student or recent graduate from an accredited bachelor's or master's level GIS program preferred.
