Job Description
- Work onsite at TNRIS headquarters in Austin, Texas to digitize extensive historical imagery archive
- Create, organize, manipulate and validate digital scans (TIFF format) of historic aerial image print archive dating back to the 1930’s, including 9” frame print and 24” frame print collections
- Utilize large format scanners and associated software to efficiently and consistently scan and archive 9” and 24” image prints
- Apply defined standard operating procedures to facilitate consistent, high quality image scanning
- Use defined GIS principles, best practices and procedures to georeference digital TIFF images
- Perform quality assurance of data work products in accordance with defined AECOM or client-specific requirements and standards
- Work under supervision of Imagery Scanning and Georeferencing Team Lead to complete project objectives by August 1, 2019
Required Skills/Experience
- Currently working towards a Certificate, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS or related field
- Basic understanding of fundamentals in mapping, cartography, spatial analysis, and geospatial data management with proven experience utilizing the ESRI ArcGIS platform
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form
- Ability to work with a team of GIS professionals or independently as required for each project assignment
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to communicate directly with customers from environmental, public works, engineering and other business areas
- Strong focus on quality and attention to detail
Primary Location – TNRIS headquarters, Austin, Texas
Scheduled Weekly Hours – 40
Work Shift – 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate - $15/hour
