GIS Internship with Capital Metro

The GIS Intern reports directly to the GIS Coordinator. This position will support the development and maintenance of an Enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide assistance in the development, maintenance, training and support of GIS and related systems.
• Design and Configure Maps and Apps in Portal for ArcGIS.
• Update Item Info, Maps, and Apps in Portal for ArcGIS.
• Assist in GIS Portal Training sessions for Agency GIS Users.
• Edit and maintain Sidewalk features in an ArcSDE Geodatabase.
• Update and maintain Point of Interest in Portal for ArcGIS or an ArcSDE Geodatabase.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program at a college or university in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or related studies with the completion of a minimum of two (2) courses in GIS studies.
• Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 or newer required.
• Experience with Esri's ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online/Portal, and ArcPy preferred.
• Experience with Safe’s Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) Desktop preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to coordinate several diverse job requirements and projects.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.

SALARY RANGE - 11.00 - 18.00 - HOURLY; UP TO 20 HOURS PER WEEK
