UAS Technician with LCRA

LCRA is seeking candidates for an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Technician to support mission planning, flight observation, data collection, and post-flight processing.  This position performs maintenance and/or troubleshooting on UAS and flight software while developing competencies by performing structured work assignments and receives instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

  • Performs as visual observer during UAS flights.
  • Assists in mission planning prior to flights.
  • Provides airspace conditions to the pilot during missions.
  • Processes and manipulates UAS data.
  • Performs maintenance on UAS equipment.
  • Troubleshoots issues with equipment and software.
  • Performs the role of UAS Operator during flights.
  • Creates maps, models, and edited photography for final deliverable of UAS data.

Minimum Qualifications
One or more years of experience or exposure to UAS, surveying, mapping, GIS, photogrammetry, and/or aviation.  Technical training in aviation, aerial mapping, photogrammetry, survey, GIS, or engineering may substitute for experience.
