IT Geospatial Analyst (Wildfire) with Austin Fire Department

The Austin Fire Department (AFD) Wildfire Division is seeking candidates for an IT Geospatial Analyst. This position will:

• Facilitate the integration of Wildfire Geographic Information Systems into AFD and COA planning and operations.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of the COA Wildfire Evacuation support Mapping.
• Receives GIS requests for a variety of tasks including reports on metrics, ArcGIS Online field data collection maps, and neighboring property ownership analysis.
• Delegates or directly trains other employees in the Wildfire Division, and helps with trainings through AFD and the City of Austin regarding GIS and ArcGIS online.
• Maps active Wildfire incidents in real-time with the help of firefighters conducting mobile data collection of the fire perimeter and any additional pertinent information; and quickly generates maps for AFD’s Public Information Office and the news media.

Minimum qualifications are Two (2) years of education from an accredited college or university in a field related to the job.  Experience may substitute for education up to two (2) years.
