The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is seeking candidates for Public Health GIS Internship. This internship will focus on the development of entry-level GIS training for public health professionals. Separate training modules will be developed for ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGISPro, and ArcGIS Online. Time permitting, assistance on ad-hoc mapping tasks and other small GIS projects will be requested.
To be considered for the position, the student or recent graduate will need to submit an internship application, a resume, and two letters of recommendation. The website states that applications are accepted until August 15th, but hiring manager and GIS Specialist Aja Davidson will be accept applications until the position is filled. A resume and application can be submitted separately from the letters of recommendation if the applicant needs a little more time to acquire the letters. She intends on beginning interviews the week of August 20-24, and is encouraging all applicants to submit before August 20th.
