There is a unique internship opportunity available to GIS@ACC students with the Texas Water Development Board.
It is a position focused on collecting flood data for the NEW State of Texas regional flood planning groups. In 2019 the TWDB Flood Programs was expanded to administer a new state and regional flood planning process with flood planning regions based on river basins. The first plan is due in 2023 and the TWDB needs your help!

This is different than the normal TNRIS internship positions in that you would be working directly with the NEW Water Data Coordinator Taylor Christian. Taylor emailed me directly asking me to share this posting with the GIS@ACC students. As an alumnus of the ACC GIS Online Level I Certificate Program here at ACC, she knows exactly what skills you are mastering and she wants to see those applications come rolling in!
