GIS Intern at ACC

The Effectiveness and Accountability Department at Austin Community College is seeking an intern to assist in the development, manipulation, organization, analysis, and

presentation of GIS data.

Description of Duties and Tasks

• Creating and updating maps
• Creating maps and reports using geocoded data
• Analyzing GIS data for trends and patterns
• Designing draft and final layouts of maps and reports
• Compiling spatial information into requested formats

Knowledge

• Mapping principles including creating and editing maps, building layers
• importing external data and shape files
• Location and geocoding concepts as related to mapping
• Using data analysis in the context of location for trends and patterns
