ACC/CSEC GIS Internship Partnership Renewed

The Texas Commission on Emergency Communications (CSEC) recently renewed a two-year, $50,000 contract with ACC. Through this partnership, the ACC Incubator for Professional Skills (ACC Inc) hires GIS interns to assess the spatial accuracy of 9-1-1 mapping data. ACC Inc employed seven GIS interns during 2016-17 that completed 9-1-1 Geospatial Data Assessment Reports for 24 Texas counties at a cost of $32,787.31, or approximately $1400 per report. Our first five interns have now graduated and secured full-time positions in the GIS profession. You can learn more about this great program in the recently published CSEC Connections Newsletter article: ACC/CSEC Partnership Definitely Is On the Map and the Next Generation 9-1-1 Geospatial Data Assessment Project Summary Report.
