GIS Analyst with Williamson County Appraisal District

The Williamson County Appraisal District (WCAD) is seeking candidates for a GIS\Database Analyst to provide support for the District’s network infrastructure, hardware & software maintenance and end user support. See the original job posting for more information and to apply of this position.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties and requirements may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Create and maintain GIS web services and applications using ArcGIS Server.
  • Maintain hardware, software and databases for mapping and spatial data.
  • Analyze data within WCAD’s computer aided mass appraisal (CAMA) databases
  • Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data integrity.
  • Organizes time and workload to meet deadlines.
  • Responsible for maintaining compliance with WCAD Personnel Policy and commitment to regular attendance.
  • Ability to work and communicate with WCAD consultant and/or the offsite consulting helpdesk
  • Write and maintain documentation for workflow processes, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Ability to explain complicated or technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Improve procedures and efficiency by evaluating procedures and making suggestions while maintaining data integrity

Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team to achieve success in a variety of projects
  • Experience using ArcGIS for desktop, ArcSDE and ArcGIS for Server
  • Experience in scripting languages, such as Python
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Ability to research and solve problems related to Map services and database issues
  • Ability to compile data into comprehensive reports
  • Web technologies: HTML, CSS , PHP, etc…
  • Experience in appraisal data or land records
  • Enjoys researching and learning new skills
