TxDOT: Summer Support Technician II - Right of Way Division


TxDOT's Summer Employment Program provides current high school and college students the opportunity to gain valuable paid hands-on experience.

To qualify, students must:
  • Must be 17 years old
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student at a high school, technical school, college or university the spring semester before the summer work period.

Job Description:

Assists the Mapping and GIS branch within the Right of Way Division in a variety of clerical-related work activities. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.


This job requires the following:
  • High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies
  • 1 or More College Credit Hours
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Applicants working towards a degree is Geography with experience in the use of ArcGIS software are preferred.

Employment will begin no earlier than May 1, 2019. Summer hire's title/pay is based upon:
  • Qualifications, High school or completed college hours and prior TxDOT experience (if any). 
  • Transcripts must be provided before hire is completed.
Rate of Pay will be $12.25 - $13.00 per hour, depending on completed credit hours and qualifications.

Salary Plan/Grade: A07
